This summer has been a world wind. College during the summer is the toughest. I am proud to say that I have achieved good grades for this summer. This summer term I had to take three classes that were longer than two hours. My classes are as follows: Public Speaking, Sexual Health Decision Making and Composition.
My older brother, Nardo, being a sophomore at USF, gave me advice and told me that Composition was going to be a challenge. My first week at college was smooth, I was just frustrated on how much work I was going to be doing. The thing about summer term is condensing 14 weeks into six weeks! Yikes! But I knew I could handle anything if I set my mind to it. I at first wondered why do people drop out of college? Then I realized, the amount of work some people just loose motivation. My motivation is being "professional" and making a living for myself.
The classes that I've taken have all been rigorous in their own way. In Sex class, the Monday quizzes and the long lectures in the morning- which sometimes would lead to me falling asleep. Public Speaking, dealing with the speeches each week and Composition with paper after paper and not one day of no homework. These classes were easy to balance and it taught me how to grow as a person and do the easy homework first and work my way up.
Overall, college has taught me to be more responsible. I've changed an grown by being more straightforward and being myself.I think college teaches everyone to become independent but once in a while its okay to call back parents and ask for money. College isn't hard people can make it hard if they don't manage their time right. I hope to make these next four years the best time of my life and become the woman I was destined to be.
