A Fat tax?!!

Since I am from Peru, a poor country, an abundance of food is better than Christmas gift. I grew up in Peru in an upper class, I was fortunate enough to have enough food to stay alive. Sometimes when I see the "Christian World Hunger Fund" I reminisce on the rural areas of Peru and witness malnourished children not even five begging for food while the upper class feasted. I remember when my great-grandmother came to Florida to visit she looked at me and my brother and say you guys are too fat. Now being a girl I was offended at first and went to my mother to tell her what grandma bluntness was about.

My mom said that in any developing country the ones who are skinny are malnourished and can't afford food, the ones who are big and voluptuous are wealthy and have money to eat. Now being in America being overweight is a negative image. Sine I've moved here, the American lifestyle is all about "who cares?" I disagree, one might say they care what other people think but they do in the inside care.

With this said, the fat tax should be imposed. Well come on think about it? The number of people who stopped smoking from the 1980's has decreased with all those public health advertisement and the heavy tax on cigarettes. Cigarettes took a while for people to realize it was an endangerment to health.

Society needs a wake up call. The only way society is going to stop eating junk foods is for them going broke. I heard that in New Zealand in order to move in to the country one must not be overweight- meaning a specific weight size. Although that sounds like it is violating human rights, it inst because its a way for an imperfect gene pool to be in the whole pool. Now that might sound harsh, but I wouldn't like to be surrounded by fatties all the time, cause then I will feel the pressure to become fat. In Africa in Sudan they make young girls fat... Now this is due to cultural reasons. Parents send their daughters to a fat camp not for them to loose weight but to gain more than 100 pounds, its in their culture that men admire bigger women.

Don't get me wrong, women who have curves is great! But there is a limit to everything. I like to fatty food every now and then but my result of eating that is massive acne. That's my way of having self control. If the government does impose Fat tax, it would give America as a whole what to eat better and be conscious. I think the first step is for the wallet to be going broke and then its a wake up call.

America needs to get that fat tax- eat what you want just be conscious of what one is doing. One can do whatever they like however the consequences can be deadly. I'm glad that I have enough food to keep me alive. I eat because I want to live, I don't live to eat.
